BETTER WITH BOOKS
CLUB

Making sense of things through books and writing.

Welcome
I'm a writer, counsellor, marketer, list-maker, and PhD student from Manchester, UK. My PhD is exploring the therapeutic benefits of reading and writing in addiction recovery, and I am creatively interested in blurring the lines between horror, fiction, memoir, and mental health.
Over the years, I've written for online book and music blogs, print and digital zines; produced performance and spoken word events; been a member of two theatre companies as writer-actor-director. As an actor, I've performed across the UK and been lucky enough to be in an award-winning fringe show. Solo and research-driven performance work has taken me from Leeds to Berlin, via Transylvania. I work full time in Higher Education marketing, and while I'm not currently seeing counselling clients on a 121 basis I draw on my therapeutic training in my research and workshop delivery.

I am in the process of rejigging this site, but feel free to have a read of the news below, work updates, or the ol' blog posts.
